The Stewart Luxury Apartments Pool Renovation

McBride Paint and Wall Coverings was contracted to do the painting for the rooftop pool Remodel at The Stewart in Downtown Phoenix. The pool is on top of the 18th floor of The Stewart and has a commanding view of the city. The main part of this renovation was the painting of a graphic design on the cantilevered ramadas at the pool deck.

This was the drawing we received to recreate the image on the ceilings. One of the issues we encountered was the east and west decks were not the same width - but the plan had them at the same width. McBride Paint and Wall Coverings had to rescale the drawings to fit each side. Our wall covering layout skills came into play and we re-centered and rescaled the graphic.

The width of the ceiling deck was about 124 inches. We had to devise a way to mark the circles and triangles easily. This tool below was custom made by McBride Paint and Wall Coverings. It was about 31" wide. We bought a 24" compass off amazon and took the pencil holder and pin point a affixed them to a wood dowel and this tool allowed us to draw the entire graphic without a tape measure. We used it to mark the triangles and squares and used a straight edge to make those designs. We taped the pencil marks and hand brushed and rolled the designs.

Before we could finish, we had to do a complete panel mock-up of the graphic for the architects approval. They loved it and we could continue.
